Hannibal S2, Ep7 – Yakimono
Costume Designer: Christopher Hargadon
The Sweater
As Dr. Lecter gets more relaxed in the company of his associates, so to does his wardrobe during office hours. For his therapy reunion with Will Graham, we get to see a great example of how Hannibal can still look professional wearing a casual knit. This Brown & Navy Woollen Sweater with a Houndstooth Front has a zip mock and underneath an Antonio Valente shirt with a diamond pattern weave and sky blue pearlescent buttons.
And the rest
Hannibal resorts back to a Canali tie, with deep red large floral leaf patterns with taupe accents and a burgundy pattern background. Canali actually sell a very select few ties on their own website, and none in red silk. (At the time of writing).
His slacks are from Zanella an Italian Trouser making company, and are tan with charcoal undertone. His shoes are a dark brown pointed toe from Hugo Boss. This outfit was realised at the Prop Store auction for $450. A steal, if you’re a similar frame as Mads Mikkelsen.
Gone missing
Although we have seen Hannibal wear a sweater before in a casual setting for a breakfast with Jack in episode 5, this is the first time we have seen him casual in a therapy session. The Houndstooth Woollen Sweater is unusual with its Houndstooth Front and plain navy arms. I wonder if Mads Mikkelsen took a shine to this sweater as it was omitted from the auction listing. As were the Hugo Boss shoes. It’s not a sweater that cries ‘serial killer’ so there is a good chance that it was repurposed for his personal wardrobe.
