The Wiener Riesenrad Ferris Wheel

The Wiener Riesenrad Ferris Wheel

Morning all, so some quick shots of what it was like going up the ferris wheel as featured in The Living Daylights. The Wiener Riesenrad, is a 64.75-metre tall Ferris wheel at the entrance of the Prater amusement park in Leopoldstadt. You’ll be wanting to get in carriage number 10, the one Kara and Bond used. You can eat in some of the carriages as you can see in the pictures. You can book tables here.

UPDATE APRIL 2022

I looked into booking a private wagon for my second trip to Vienna. You can contact this email address : <office@zumriesenrad.at>.

I was invoiced a fee of 300 Euros for a booking of 3. You cannot book number 10 because it is not a diners cart. The only method of payment is an international bank transfer. I refused to pay this as I thought it was an unnecessary fee.

Extras

I’m also going to include at the bottom some off shoots from my trip. I don’t have time to write reviews or tag locations. Below are some photos taken on my trip to Vienna. I’m including them here to give you a flavour of the city. Feel free to use them but credit me where appropriate.

Cathedral

The photo above was taken on top of the Cathedral building. Very much recommend.

Markets

The food and flea markets are long and busy. But a lot of fun.

Klimt

A murial of Klimt. He is a national treasure in Vienna and you can see his most famous painting, The Kiss in one of the museums there. At the museum we bought the book Gustav Klimt, Masterpiece of Art which I would recommend.
