We are knee deep in the torture scene as continue to breakdown the minutes of Casino Royale. The barge location is found, (thanks Mr L) and MORE details of the rope revealed.

The trickiness of the scene is to know Craig hasn’t got clothes on but at the same time one doesn’t want to show anything one doesn’t want to see. just a single light source in front of him, means the other parts of his body to be in blackness or silhouette.
Artificial smoke was added to the scene to add to the skylight shots.
If anything its a street light , the whole thing is a cheat , it wouldn’t look like this in real life photography is about making it interesting, if you think about it, otherwise you’re shooting reality tv.
Isn’t it nicer to control the light and add something extra and build an emotion and a feeling.
It was a tense scene to do, we tried to do it in one go, without separate shots.
All these closer shots and mid shots were all done as one with many different dolly moves to keep the camera moving so the actors could stay in the emotion of the scene.
