Does anyone read written reviews of TV shows and films anymore? I don’t, so I don’t expect you to either. But how about for the purpose of this weeks match report, we both pretend we do.
Firstly, it’s my fault. I’ve seen Brosnan in Bond so many times, it’s tough to believe he is just not ‘Bond in disguise’ when he plays other characters. So that’s on me.
His accent might be all over the road, which is certainly off-putting and confusing, (an Irish man incapable of doing a convincing Irish accent) but when Pierce is on it, he’s on it.
And he’s never been more on it than when he gets cheered down the prison gangway in the final scene of Mobland, crying ‘bring it on!’ to the sound of Sympathy For The Devil. (I’ve attached the vid). I wrote on X something like, its as if Pierce Brosnan has suddenly become self aware.
It’s as if Pierce Brosnan has just realised he’s Pierce Brosnan. pic.twitter.com/yZg2grK8gP

Tom Hardy does his quiet Hardy role as Harry. Think Locke, but with stylish coats. I spoke to my mate (won’t name him) who provided an entire wardrobe for the Harry character, but HARDY returned EVERYTHING.
“He’s not difficult,” my mate said, “but he is bloody fussy.”
The dialogue lets the show down a lot. I don’t think Guy Ritchie does quotable films anymore. Hugh Grant’s character in Operation Fortune aside. ‘Orson Fortune. That is a sexy name. It is. You must fancy him a bit.’ – Greg.
Overall
3/5 stars. Fun to play, ‘oh I’ve been there’ with all the London locations. Too early to think of a Mobland Map? Don’t cut the carrots in the middle of an argument. Pierce great. Tom great. Geoff Bell echoes of Brick Top without the clever one-liners. Lisa Dwan = Smoke Show.
